McCaskill, after running the Freeport Hotel for the past year and a half, has purchased the Brown House and will run it as the McCaskill Hotel. He plans to upgrade, \u201claying particular stress on the cuisine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Memorial Day Observed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There was no formal observance, but \u201cthe old soldiers decorated all the graves of the Federal soldiers buried in the cemetery and hung wreathes on the cemetery gates in honor of the Confederate dead buried there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Local News<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>IV MCJusig \u00a0was over from Jackson Saturday<\/li>\n<li>N McQuire was here from Freeport the first of the week<\/li>\n<li>Mr. Sutton has moved his family back to Niceville for the summer<\/li>\n<li>John Douglas left Monday to do some carpenter work at the New Home still<\/li>\n<li>Dr. Smith of the Sanitarium, left yesterday on business to Indianna<\/li>\n<li>A rural route has been set up for Alaqua, starting July 1<\/li>\n<li>Messrs.
