June 1917 Obituaries<\/span><\/p>\n

1917 June 7– Mr T J McKee<\/strong>, our efficient deputy sheriff died at his home in this city last Saturday night<\/p>\n

and was buried at Valley cemetery Sunday with WOW honors.\u00a0 He leaves a wife and several<\/p>\n

children.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

** Will<\/strong> Blackwell,<\/strong> who is now in the Walton jail, is charged with the murders of Mr & Mrs Bud<\/strong> Davis<\/strong>,<\/p>\n

(See March 29) several weeks ago, states that he will write a history of his life as soon as he has<\/p>\n

vindicated himself of this revolting charge.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

1917 June 28–\u00a0 Mrs Milbra<\/strong> King<\/strong>, mother of Dr John<\/strong> F King, Mr D H King and Mrs Love<\/strong> Moore<\/strong>, died<\/p>\n

Sunday at her home this city.\u00a0 \u201cGrandma King\u201d as she was called was born in Baker Co, Georgia<\/p>\n

Jan 4th<\/sup> 1831 and had reached the old age of 86 yrs when she died.\u00a0 She joined the Primitive<\/p>\n

Baptist church in 1865.\u00a0 She was the mother of 8 children, three of who survive her. Funeral<\/p>\n

Was held Tuesday at Glendale cemetery.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The home of Mr Henry<\/strong> Yon<\/strong> is being doubly affected.\u00a0 Death claimed little Willie<\/strong>, 6 yrs old Sunday<\/p>\n

morning (June 24). The funeral was set for Monday morning, and as the parties gathered at the home for the<\/p>\n

service they learned that Mrs Yon had given birth some 3 hrs earlier to a little boy & little girl, born<\/p>\n

dead.\u00a0 Thus there were 3 dead lambs.\u00a0 The funeral services were deferred until noon and conducted<\/p>\n

at the cemetery of the Presbyterian Church.<\/p>\n
