May 7, 1925 <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Thomas J Lindsey<\/strong>, employee of the Britton Lumber Co, who resided at Mossy Head was fatally injured Thursday evening [April 30] about 1:30 when a tree he was cutting fell in the top of another tree, bending it nearly to the ground, when suddenly the falling tree freed itself and the other tree righted with such force as to sling one of its limbs off, the flying limb striking Mr Lindsey in the head.  He was rushed to his home and medical aid was summoned. He passed away abt 10:45. Services were conducted at Hacoda, AL on Friday. He is survived by wife and 3 children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thomas Murphy<\/strong> died Wednesday last week. He was a native of Holmes Co, FL who would have been 50 yrs on Nov 15th<\/sup>.  Leaves a wife and 7 children, 2 married daughters and one son who were summoned home; 4 sisters and on brother. (long article)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

May 14, 1925<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Wilma McLean<\/strong>, 3 yr daughter of Mr & Mrs J O McLean passed away Apr 29th<\/sup>. She was buried at Hatcher cemetery Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mrs John Peacock<\/strong> (nee Georgia Pearly Cousins<\/strong>) passed away in Texas, Thursday May 7th<\/sup>. Mr & Mrs Peacock had been on a visit to that state from their home in Tulsa, OK. The body was carried to her sister, Mrs Powell at Birmingham, AL where burial took place the following Saturday.  She is survived by husband and two children; numerous sisters and brothers, among them Mrs J Moss Flournoy of Vernon, FL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mrs A C S Smyth<\/strong> wife of the late Rector of St Agatha\u2019s died at her home in Winston Salem, NC on Monday May 4th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

May 28, 1925<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

W C Marler\u2019s<\/strong> 2 \u00bd yr old  son drowned Wednesday as a result of falling from a boat into the waters of East Pass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Herman Ellis Thompson<\/strong>, a student at Howard College at Birmingham, lost his life in the undertow near Florosa Inn in Okaloosa county on Wednesday last week. .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

J B (Bullie) Alford<\/strong> of Alaqua died last Sunday [May 24, 1925]. Funeral services at Alaqua church Monday after which the body was laid to rest with Masonic honors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The deserted car of Lawrence Ward<\/strong>, who left Opp, Ala to join a fishing party at Bishop\u2019s lake has been found near Reedy Creek and the surrounding circumstances justify a strong suspicion of foul play.\u00a0J R Ward<\/strong>, father of missing man with Sheriff Bell <\/strong>are doing their best to clear up the mystery.\u00a0Lawrence Ward<\/strong> who is 31 yrs\u00a0 is said to have about 50-75 dollars on his person when he left Opp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
