1935 Dec 19 – Glenmore “Granny” Nowling<\/strong> abt 20 yrs of age and Clarence Watts<\/strong> 23 yrs were instantly<\/p>\n

killed when the truck loaded with feed, in which they were returning from Crestview, crashed<\/p>\n

headon into a Teche (Greyhound)\u00a0 bus some 2 miles the other side of Mossy Head Sunday.<\/p>\n

The bus was driven by W\u00a0 J Walls<\/strong> of Pensacola was exonerated of any blame.\u00a0 The truck was<\/p>\n

driven under the bus, both vehicles making speed of approx. 40 mpr.\u00a0 Sheriff Prescott<\/strong> said<\/p>\n

Nowling and Watts were seen drinking earlier in the day and liquor was found in remains of<\/p>\n

truck.\u00a0\u00a0 Watts was sentenced for a previous accident (see July 1935) to 5 yrs imprisonment,<\/p>\n

but was out and about pending an appeal.<\/p>\n
