1937 Feb 11 – T W Rushing<\/strong> died at his home in Knox Hill community January 13th<\/sup> 1937.\u00a0 Mr Rushing<\/p>\n

was born Aug 13 1851, having reached age of 86 at time of his death.\u00a0 He is survived by 5<\/p>\n

sons M P, R W, T P of Ponce de Leon, Joe of Niceville and K K of Texas; one daughter,<\/p>\n

Mrs M D Floyd<\/strong> of Ponce de Leon.\u00a0 Internment was Euchee Valley Cemetery.<\/p>\n

1937 Feb 18 – The news last Thursday of the tragic death of Mr. & Mrs.\u00a0 S I Williams<\/strong>\u00a0 at Fort Pierce<\/p>\n

came as a shock to people.\u00a0 Mrs. Alto Adams<\/strong> daughter of the deceased couple, had gone to<\/p>\n

visit her mother and found her dead. While officers were investigating her death, the body<\/p>\n

of her husband was found in burned out-building.\u00a0 The Coroner’s jury found Mr Williams<\/p>\n

had shot his wife, then going to out-building and set fire to it and shot himself.\u00a0\u00a0 Funeral<\/p>\n

services for Mrs Williams\u00a0 were held Friday morning, Feb. 12th\u00a0 <\/sup>\u00a0and internment was in Gum Creek<\/p>\n

cemetery.\u00a0 Services for Mr Williams were held Friday, Feb 12th<\/sup> afternoon at Chapel Hill.<\/p>\n

Mrs J J Adams<\/strong>, widow of the late J J Adams<\/strong>, familiarly known as ‘Uncle Jeff”<\/strong>, passed away<\/p>\n

at Crestview Tuesday and was buried at Hatcher yesterday (Wednesday). She had reached the<\/p>\n

age of 92 yrs.<\/p>\n

Mr & Mrs Brown Miller<\/strong> of Bonifay are the proud parents of a 9 lb son, Brown<\/strong> Jr, born on<\/p>\n

Sunday, Feb 7.<\/p>\n

M A McLeod<\/strong> 68, died at Florala, Feb 10th<\/sup> and was buried in Elam cemetery near Goshen.<\/p>\n

He is survived by his wife and seven children, two of whom are Frank & E T McLeod<\/strong>, local<\/p>\n

residents.\u00a0\u00a0 Mr & Mrs DeVaughn Pitts<\/strong> of Pensacola announces the birth of an 8 lb girl on May<\/p>\n

16th<\/sup> . The baby will bear the name Dorothy<\/strong> Yvonne<\/strong>, Mrs Pitts will be remembered as<\/p>\n

Dollye<\/strong> Howell<\/strong> formerly of New Home.<\/p>\n

Word was received here last week of the death of Erick Lund<\/strong> at his home in Murdock, Minn.<\/p>\n

The deceased was former resident of Santa Rosa.\u00a0 Jack Dempsey<\/strong>, an old time resident of<\/p>\n

Defuniak passed away in his hom in Toledo, Ohio last week.<\/p>\n

Dec 12 1874 in Thomas Co. Ga, moved with his parents at early age, spent most of his life in<\/p>\n

Holmes and Walton counties. Also survived by daughter and adopted daughter.<\/p>\n
