{"id":1724,"date":"2012-07-30T18:49:52","date_gmt":"2012-07-31T00:49:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/waltoncountyheritage.org\/wp\/?p=1724"},"modified":"2012-07-30T18:49:52","modified_gmt":"2012-07-31T00:49:52","slug":"the-defuniak-herald-january-1941-obituaries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/waltonpast2present.com\/wcgs\/2012\/07\/the-defuniak-herald-january-1941-obituaries\/","title":{"rendered":"The DeFuniak Herald &#8211; January 1941 &#8211; Obituaries"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>*1941 Jan\u00a0 Miss Lillian Gillis died suddenly in West Palm Beach, where she had resided for some<\/p>\n<p>time.\u00a0 She was youngest daughter of Duncan Gillis of this place and was a teacher in<\/p>\n<p>public schools of that city.\u00a0 Services were held in West Palm Beach on Monday, following<\/p>\n<p>which the body was brought here for interment in Magnolia Cemetery.\u00a0 Surviving are her<\/p>\n<p>father Duncan Gillis now in his 88<sup>th<\/sup> year and a siter Miss Estell and a married sister who<\/p>\n<p>lives in Washington D C .<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Howard Wooten about 36\u00a0 who died Saturday at his home in Louisville, Ky was brought<\/p>\n<p>here for interment in Magnolia. Services were held at home of his only sister, Mrs Brady<\/p>\n<p>Parrish.\u00a0 He was eldest sone of Mr &amp; Mrs D E Wooten one time residents of DeF.\u00a0 The<\/p>\n<p>father left here and went to Bagdad where his death later occurred and his body was brought<\/p>\n<p>here to rest beside that of his wife in Magnolia. Howard saw service in the Army. Survivors<\/p>\n<p>Ray, Cecil, and a sister Virginia (Mrs B Parrish).
