He was a&nbsp;prisoner of war in Germany. The letter requested cigarettes &amp; shaving equipment, and&nbsp;was headed STALAG VII Grepruft, March 27 1943.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From Opp AL Newspapers:<br>Mrs <strong>Horace<\/strong> <strong>Danley<\/strong> passed away in Birmingham hospital on Monday May 24<sup>th<\/sup>.&nbsp; Mrs Danley is the former Annie Jane <strong>Woodham<\/strong>.&nbsp;Services were held Wednesday&nbsp;from The First Methodist church.&nbsp;The deceased was born in Opp on Nov 30 1899 and lived here her entire lifetime.&nbsp; On Apr 20 1921 she was married to H. D. Danley and to this union were born 3 children: <strong>Marjorie<\/strong>, <strong>Peggy<\/strong> &amp; <strong>Horace<\/strong> Dewey Jr.&nbsp; Survived by husband &amp; 3 children, parents, Mr &amp; Mrs N A <strong>Woodham<\/strong> all of Opp, 2 brothers J C &amp; <strong>Willie<\/strong> Woodham.&nbsp; [See also <em>The Breeze,<\/em> June 3, 1943, p. 6, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.findagrave.com\/memorial\/29823020\/annie-jane-danley\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/www.findagrave.com\/memorial\/29823020\/annie-jane-danley<\/a> )<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>June 10, 1943<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr&nbsp;<strong>Charles<\/strong> <strong>Howard<\/strong> <strong>Hood <\/strong>of Westville, passed away at his residence in Westville on June 3<sup>rd<\/sup>.&nbsp;He is survived by his parents, Mr &amp; Mrs C D <strong>Hood<\/strong>, several brothers and other relatives. Services were held at the home on June 4<sup>th<\/sup>, Internment was in Westville Cemetery. C Ward,<\/strong> young son of Charlie <strong>Ward<\/strong> of&nbsp; Freeport, was fatally burned on Tuesday May 25<sup>th<\/sup> at his home.&nbsp; He was brought to the Lakeside Clinic where he passed away on May 27<sup>th<\/sup>.&nbsp;Services were held in Freeport on May 28<sup>th<\/sup>. Interment at Antioch Cemetery. He is survived by one brother C H Quinton of Wine Gardens, MO.\u00a0 Services were held on May 29<sup>th<\/sup>, internment was in Magnolia Cemetery.
