H. Atwell<\/strong> died of heart attack last Friday morning.&nbsp;A native of Grove City, Penn.&nbsp;Has been a resident here for past 25 years.&nbsp; Survivors were three sisters and two brothers in Penn.&nbsp;A son <strong>Robert H. Atwell<\/strong> of Washington state.&nbsp;Funeral was held Sunday at Presbyterian&nbsp;Church after which the body was interred beside that of his wife who had preceded him in death some two years ago.&nbsp; He was veteran of Spanish American War of 1898.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Laura Bell McLendon<\/strong>, daughter of Mr.&nbsp; &amp; Mrs. <strong>Ralph McLendon<\/strong>, was killed by a fall from&nbsp;a truck in which the family was riding Sunday. Services were held at family home Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>October 12, 1944<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mrs. <strong>Mary Lou Hardy<\/strong>, 38, wife of <strong>Shepherd Hardy<\/strong>, passed quietly away at her home near Ponce de Leon last Wednesday, October 4.&nbsp;Mrs. Hardy died after almost two years of illness. She leaves a husband Shepherd and seven children, <strong>Mary Jr.<\/strong>, <strong>Monroe<\/strong>, <strong>Ezra<\/strong>, <strong>Leo<\/strong>, <strong>Earl<\/strong>, <strong>Rosette<\/strong>, and <strong>Charles<\/strong>; four  sisters, Mrs. <strong>Frank Holman<\/strong>, Mrs. <strong>Nora Elliott<\/strong>, Mrs. <strong>Letty Champion<\/strong>, and  Miss <strong>Idealia Smith<\/strong>, two brothers, <strong>Dan Smit<\/strong>h and <strong>Benjamin Smith<\/strong> who is serving in South Pacific&nbsp;with the U S Army. Services were Thursday at Red Bay Presbyterian church, interment in&nbsp;Red Bay Cemetery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pvt. <strong>Henry Dalton Ard<\/strong> died in action overseas. He was son of Mr. and Mrs. <strong>William Ard<\/strong> and died of his wounds somewhere in France.&nbsp;Pvt. Ard&#8217;s brother, <strong>Okland Lee Ard<\/strong> was in the same company with his brother having reached England together in June 1944. Dalton, who would have been 21 years of age on November 28<sup>th<\/sup> died the same day he was wounded in action.&nbsp;The Ard brothers are nephew of Mr. and Mrs. <strong>Gaston Holly<\/strong> and Mr.  and Mrs. <strong>Jake Ard<\/strong> of Paxton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mrs. <strong>William McNeil<\/strong> of Lakewood, Fla. died October 7, and services were held at Florala&nbsp;Baptist church on Sunday and interment was made in the Florala cemetery. Mrs. McNeil&nbsp;was formerly Miss <strong>Eva Duke<\/strong> of Gaskin and is survived by husband, four small children, her&nbsp;mother, Mrs. <strong>H. H. Ballard<\/strong>, and one sister, Mrs. <strong>Glen Vickery<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mrs. <strong>G. H. Murphy<\/strong> passed away at her home on October 2, 1944.&nbsp; The deceased, the daughter&nbsp;of <strong>Cullen B. Edwards<\/strong> and <strong>Elizabeth Parish Edwards<\/strong> was born May 30 1872. She was&nbsp;the widow of the late G. H. Murphy whose death occurred November 14, 1938. Survived by two&nbsp;daughters, Mrs. <strong>J. M. Ealum<\/strong> and Mrs. <strong>J. F. Howell<\/strong> and one brother, Mr. <strong>A. S. Edwards<\/strong>.&nbsp;Services were held at Gum Creek cemetery and interment followed in churchyard&nbsp;cemetery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>October 19, 1944<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Noah F. Fountain<\/strong>, 34 years, was killed in a truck accident at Freeport Saturday evening.&nbsp;Mr. Fountain, a son of <strong>Joe Fountain<\/strong> of Portland, was driving an oil truck which turned over&nbsp;and crushed him.&nbsp;Survivors are his widow, former <strong>Irene Godwin<\/strong> and two year old daughter <strong>Barbara<\/strong>,&nbsp;his parents and two brothers, <strong>Rayborn<\/strong> and <strong>Lavins Fountain<\/strong>. Burial in the Hatcher cemetery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mrs. <strong>Julia Randall<\/strong> died recently at home of her daughter Mrs. <strong>Harry Culbertson<\/strong> at Ft Wayne,&nbsp;Ind.&nbsp;She was a winter visitor to this place and about 87 years of age. She was born in Albion,&nbsp;N.Y. and united in marriage to <strong>Parry A. Randall<\/strong> a Fort Wayne attorney and civic leader in 1876.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Albert F. Bullard Sr. <\/strong>died Wednesday morning at the family home.&nbsp;Surviving are his widow, former <strong>Mary Virginia Cummings<\/strong>, daughter of late Rev. <strong>J. B. Cummings<\/strong>, three daughters, Misses&nbsp;<strong>Virginia<\/strong> and <strong>Jeanette Bullard<\/strong> and Mrs. <strong>J. F. Cooper<\/strong>, two sons Lt. <strong>A. F .Bullard Jr.<\/strong> of the Navy,&nbsp;and <strong>John<\/strong> now in Navy Training School; threee sisters, <strong>Retta Bullard<\/strong>, Mrs. <strong>Alderman<\/strong> &amp; Mrs. <strong>Bryant<\/strong>;&nbsp;three brothers; <strong>Dr. Bullard<\/strong> and&nbsp;<strong>H. Bullard<\/strong>.&nbsp; Funeral arrangements have not been completed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>October 26, 1944<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon for Mr. <strong>Albert Fletcher Bullard Sr.<\/strong> whose death occurred Wednesday October 18. Interment was made in Magnolia. Mr. Bullard was born in Steadman, NC on September 1, 1879. Early in 1900 he moved to Geneva Co. where he became associated in naval stores with his uncle the late <strong>B. F. Bullard<\/strong>, <strong>Alex Seasons<\/strong>,&nbsp;and <strong>Charley Matthews<\/strong>. In 1908 he married Miss <strong>Euphie Autry<\/strong> of Steadman, NC who died&nbsp;in 1916.&nbsp;Children of this union were Mrs. <strong>Catherine Cooper<\/strong> and <strong>Sara Brooks<\/strong>, a son <strong>Lt. A. F.&nbsp;Bullard<\/strong>, a grandson <strong>James Fenimore Cooper, Jr.<\/strong> Mr. Bullard and his second wife were&nbsp;married in 1923; children of this marriage were <strong>John<\/strong> and two daughters <strong>Virginia<\/strong> and <strong>Janet<\/strong>.&nbsp;Other survivors were four sisters, Mrs. <strong>J. C. Bryant<\/strong>, Mrs. <strong>A. B. Watson<\/strong>, Miss <strong>Retta Bullard<\/strong>, and&nbsp;Mrs. <strong>L. F. Alderman<\/strong>; brothers Dr. <strong>John Bullard <\/strong>and <strong>H. H.
