1944 Dec 21:\u00a0 Mr Ed Lofton<\/strong> formerly of Ozark, Ala passed away at home of brother T I Loftin<\/strong>, Monday<\/p>\n

Dec 18.\u00a0 Services were Tuesday and interment made in Magnolia.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

T M Pilcher<\/strong> died following an appendectomy at Panama City Sunday. A Widow and three<\/p>\n

sons survive, Pvt Carson<\/strong> Pilcher & Lt Morris<\/strong> Pilcher and Tech Sgt Ray<\/strong> Pilcher. Services<\/p>\n

were held in Panama City on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Mrs Norman<\/strong> Gillis<\/strong> (Nannie<\/strong> McSween<\/strong>) services were held Saturday at Euchee Valley Church.<\/p>\n

Sudden death of Mrs Gillis occurred\u00a0 on December 13 at age of 86. Survivors include one<\/p>\n

daughter Miss Kate<\/strong> Gillis, sons, W C & A M Gillis<\/strong>; sister Mrs Ed Crawford<\/strong> and brother<\/p>\n

J C McSween<\/strong> Sr.\u00a0 Interment was made in Valley cemetery.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Mr Henry<\/strong> Claud<\/strong> Miller<\/strong> died Thursday after days of illness. Services were held Friday with<\/p>\n

Interment in Magnolia. Survivors include a widow, one sister and two brothers.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Charles<\/strong> Arthur<\/strong> Casey<\/strong>, infant son of Mr & Mrs T C Casey passed away at home Sunday<\/p>\n

Dec 10 near Gaskin, Fl. Services were held Monday with interment at Pentecostal Cemetery.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Clayburn<\/strong> L Truett<\/strong> who received fatal injuries when a bus struck him and ran into the station on<\/p>\n

Nov 28 in Columbus, Ga.\u00a0 Services were held on Dec 1 1944, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery,<\/p>\n

in Macon, Ga.\u00a0 He was born in Gaskin, Fl and made his home in Macon for two years.\u00a0 Sur-<\/p>\n

viving are his wife, the former Vivian<\/strong> Coleman<\/strong>, a daughter Ouilla<\/strong> Truett, his parents Mr & Mrs<\/p>\n

John<\/strong> C Truett<\/strong> of Gaskin, 2 sisters Miss Adell<\/strong> Truett and Mrs Horace<\/strong> Tillis<\/strong>, 2 brothers, Sherman<\/strong><\/p>\n

G Truett<\/strong> and Vertice<\/strong> Truett<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Ralph<\/strong> Frank<\/strong> Taylor<\/strong>, 36, died in Pensacola Hospital Wednesday.\u00a0 He came here from Tnn.<\/p>\n

Services were conducted at Red Bay Friday.\u00a0 He was survived by his wife Mrs Mary<\/strong> Alyce<\/strong><\/p>\n

Rigdon<\/strong> Taylor, a brother Clyde<\/strong> Taylor, sister Beatrice<\/strong> Bennett<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

1944 Dec 28: \u00a0 PFC Thomas<\/strong> Jimmerson<\/strong>, killed in action.\u00a0 Mrs Josephine<\/strong> Jimmerson has been notified<\/p>\n

by the war department that her son Thomas A Jimmerson was killed in action in France on<\/p>\n

Dec 12. Soldier Jimmerson, 25, lived near Glendale and was inducted in Army June 16 1942<\/p>\n

At Camp Blanding.\u00a0 His mother now lives in Florala, Ala.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Lt Herbert W Bohannon<\/strong> of Jacksonville Fla has been reported missing in action since Oct 21,<\/p>\n

in France.\u00a0 He is brother to L L Bohannon<\/strong> of this city.\u00a0 His wife and mother reside in<\/p>\n

Jacksonville.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Henry L Griggs<\/strong> died suddenly from heart attack at Saufley Field near Pensacola where he<\/p>\n

was a civilian employee on Thursday Dec 21.\u00a0 His wife formerly Miss Orene<\/strong> Gillis<\/strong> of this<\/p>\n

city is a teacher at Pensacola High School. Services on Saturday\u00a0 with burial in Euchee<\/p>\n

Valley Cemetery. The American Legion provided a military escort and military honors<\/p>\n

at the grave as the deceased was\u00a0 a captain in the Army in WWI.<\/p>\n
