1946 Mar 7:\u00a0 Willis<\/strong> Coady<\/strong> Redmon<\/strong>, 31 yrs a native of Ponce de Leon was killed in auto accident<\/p>\n

on Feb 28.Funeral services were held in family home Saturday. Survivors are his mother,\u00a0 Mrs<\/p>\n

Jimmy<\/strong> Redmon<\/strong> and 2 sisters, Lola<\/strong> Redmon & Mrs Lester<\/strong> Hall<\/strong>. Interment made in<\/p>\n

Ponce de Leon cemetery on Mar 2.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Curtice<\/strong> A Hodges<\/strong> 74, died March 5 at his Vernon home and was interred in the<\/p>\n

Damascus cemetery. Surviving are his widow, 5 sons, and 5 daughters. One son, H C<\/p>\n

making his home in Defuniak, 32 gr children & 5 gr grands. Eight grandsons acted<\/p>\n

as pallbearers for the funeral service which was held on March 6.<\/p>\n

1946 Mar 14:\u00a0 Mrs Maude<\/strong> Cole<\/strong> Manning<\/strong>, wife of Wendell<\/strong> W Manning<\/strong> died Tuesday in Ponce<\/p>\n

de Leon. Funeral services at the Ponce de Leon cemetery Thursday Mar 11 with in-<\/p>\n

terment following.\u00a0 Survivors include the husband, one daughter, Elizabeth<\/strong> Ann<\/strong>, 4<\/p>\n

step-children, Wendell Manning<\/strong> Jr USMC, Mrs Lance<\/strong> Jones<\/strong>, Gay<\/strong> P & James<\/strong> W<\/p>\n

Manning<\/strong>; 4 sisters Mrs M Austin<\/strong>, Mrs Verlie Harper<\/strong>, Mrs M Deverts<\/strong>, Mrs T V<\/p>\n

Powell<\/strong>, 3 brothers Spencer<\/strong>, Paul<\/strong> & Travor<\/strong> Cole<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Thomas<\/strong> Jefferson<\/strong> Adkinson<\/strong> 82, died at his home near Glendale, Saturday.\u00a0 Born in<\/p>\n

Coffee Co, Al he lived in Walton Co for the past 40 years.\u00a0 The funeral was held from<\/p>\n

Gum Creek church with interment following in Gum Creek cemetery.\u00a0\u00a0 He is survived<\/p>\n

by 2 sons, David<\/strong> H & Oscar<\/strong> S Adkinson, 3 daughters, Mrs Eva Owens<\/strong>, Mrs Lela Jones<\/strong>,<\/p>\n

& Mrs Callie A Dobbs<\/strong>, one brother Bully<\/strong> Adkinson and one sister Mrs Leona Nobles<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Mrs Harry<\/strong> McGee<\/strong>, who made her home at the Walton Hotel died a Thomasville, Ga<\/p>\n

Hospital February 10, where she had gone for treatment.\u00a0 The remains were cremated<\/p>\n

in Macon, Ga and brought here for a memorial service at St Agatha’s Episcopal Church<\/p>\n

on Sunday Mar 3.\u00a0 The ashes were then shipped to Richmond, Va to the home of Mrs<\/p>\n

McGee’s daughter, who with her father survive.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Joseph<\/strong> Johnson<\/strong> Cotton<\/strong> 42 yrs, died Saturday March 2 in his home. A native of Geneva,<\/p>\n

Ala, he had lived here about one year. Services were held at Magnolia Chapel, with inter-<\/p>\n

ment\u00a0 in Magnolia. Survivors are wife and several children.<\/p>\n

John<\/strong> McLeod<\/strong> 80 yrs. Died at his home near Eucheeana, Wednesday, February 27. He<\/p>\n

was a native of Walton and lived in this community for 60 yrs. Services were held at<\/p>\n

Valley Church, interment followed in church cemetery.\u00a0 Survivors are 4 dau, Mrs D<\/p>\n

Brannon<\/strong>, Mrs Abbie Tew<\/strong>, Anna<\/strong> & Mary<\/strong> McLeod<\/strong>; 3 sons, Alex<\/strong>, John<\/strong> Angus<\/strong> &<\/p>\n

Raymond<\/strong> McLeod, one brother Lee<\/strong>, 2 sisters Mrs Sarah McCollum<\/strong> and Mrs Kate<\/p>\n

Johnson<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

1946 Mar 21:\u00a0 Wilbur<\/strong> B Cawthon<\/strong>, veteran of both WWI & WWII, died at Legion, Texas<\/p>\n

Veteran’s Hospital Wednesday Mar 13. He served the past 30 yrs in the Army en-<\/p>\n

listing when 17 yrs of age. The body was brought here for burial at Pleasant<\/p>\n

Ridge Cemetery on Sunday, with full military honors.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Susan<\/strong> Frances<\/strong> Simmons<\/strong> died Saturday March 18, at her home near Bruce at age<\/p>\n

of 79 yrs.\u00a0 Services were held at Black Creek Church Sunday with interment in<\/p>\n

Black Creek cemetery.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Mrs Nancy A Nolin<\/strong>, 88, passed away at her home in Darlington Friday, March 22.<\/p>\n

Mrs Nolin was a native of Pike Co, Ala but resided in Walton for many years.\u00a0 She<\/p>\n

is survived by several sons & daughters, her survivors include approximately 91,<\/p>\n

including children, grchildren & gr grands.\u00a0 Eight of her grandsons were pallbearers,<\/p>\n

included Mayo Nolin<\/strong>, Earl Day<\/strong>, Warsaw Danley<\/strong>, Mike Berry<\/strong>, Tom Weeks<\/strong>, John Singleton<\/strong>,<\/p>\n

Buddie Allen<\/strong> & George Nolin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
