A Wise Parent’s Resolves About Her School

1. I resolve to see only the good points in my child’s teacher and to speak about them to her and others.
2. I resolve not to criticise the teacher in the presence of my children or others.
3. I resolve to think always that the teacher is trying to do her best.
4. I resolve to make home conditions as favorable as possible for the physical, mental, moral well-being of my children.
5. I resolve to visit the school as often as possible, that the teacher may be assured of my interest in her and in the well-being of the pupils.
6. I resolve that if I feel positive that the teacher is using unwise methods with my children, I will have a friendly talk with her about the matter before referring it to the higher authority.
7. I resolve to find out what my boy’s associations are: whether or not they are helpful, whether he is smoking cigarettes or using tobacco in any form.
8. I resolve to make gently enforcement of obedience to wise rules a vital principal in order that the home and school may work in harmony.

The power house was closed down for a short time last Friday night for the reason that steam could not be kept up on account of some trouble with the furnace. It only lasted for a short time before Mr. Tarance had everything running in good shape again. When the city is in darkness it is pretty hard to imagine how we got along when we did not have electric lights.

D. J. Kluesmier, one of the oldest engineers on this division died at his home in Pensacola Saturday and was buried Sunday. “Daddy” Kluesmier as he was affectionately known among the railroad men was a general favorite among all that knew him, and it is said that in all his service he was never in a wreck. For years he never left on his run or left his engine at its close without kneeling for a moment in the cab in silent prayer.
