Miss Allie Garrett, formerly of this place and J. R. Peacock, of Blountstown, were married there Sunday the 10th. Mr. Peacock is postmaster of his home town and is well spoken of by the local papers.

A colored man known as Charley, who cooked on the steamer Fritz was drowned last Thursday night in the creek. It is supposed that he fell overboard after everyone else had left the wharf. His body was recovered and buried Saturday.

Landrum Cawthon entertained a few of his chums and chumeses at a celebration of his tenth birthday last Saturday afternoon [July 9, 1910]. The children had a splendid time on the spacious lawn which is such an attractive feature of that pretty home.

After a long and painful illness Mrs. C. I. [Christian I. MacIver McKinnon] McLean died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. L. [Belle Ann McLean] McDonald, Monday afternoon [July 11, 1910] and was buried Tuesday at the Valley cemetery.

Mrs. McLean was among the oldest residents of the county and leaves a large number of relatives.
