1917 Jan 4– Henry Wilkerson died on Friday, Dec 29th in Juniper Bay community.  Old uncle Henry

was nearing the age of 74 yrs. He arranged his own funeral service.  Survivors are widow

and children. Burial in Gum Creek Church Cemetery.

 

 

9 January 1917–      The body of the little OWENS girl, who was drowned over a week ago by the collapsing of a bridge across Shoal river, was found Tuesday, January 9, about 2 miles above the railroad bridge.

 

1917 Jan 11–  Mrs Henry Rochoff (nee Sadie Donaldson) died in Jacksonville, Florida. She was on

her way to her home in Cuba after spending several weeks in Philadelphia visiting her

husband’s relatives.  She became very ill while waiting to change train cars in Jacksonville

and was carried to St Luke’s hospital.   A message on Friday to her sister Mrs John Richardson,

informed of her serious illness and Saturday a message followed revealing condition of

pneumonia and other complications. Mrs Richardson left on train Saturday but her sister had

passed away early Sunday morning. Funeral will be held Wednesday in Parker, Fla where the

body will be laid to rest by side of her parents.   She leaves a husband and little son, 3 sisters,

two brothers and a host of friends.
