Glendale

  • Miss Dora Underwood and brother, Beachman, left for AL for the holidays
  • Miss Spann and 2 daughters were visiting and departed for their home in Hartford, AL on Sunday
  • G.W. Keene of Mossy Head passed through
  • J.H. Laird of West Bay visited Sunday
  • Rev. J.D. Alford filled his regular appointment at the Baptist church Saturday and Sunday
  • Perry Balkom & family of Mulville spent the holidays here
  • Mrs. Wint Moore and children spent Christmas here with her parents, Mr. & Mrs. J.C. Smith
  • Mr. & Mrs. Robert Edwards of Sandy Creek visited last week
  • W.A. Underwood went to Hacoda on Sunday
  • Dr. Harley Cawthon of DeFuniak visited one day last week
  • Jasper Underwood of Pinckard, AL is expected to arrive this week

  • Professor Charles Kemper left for Atlanta Monday night after filling in for his brother on the faculty during illness

  • Miss Nellie Jones, visitor of Miss Jennie Jackson at Vernon, returned home Monday
  • Mr. & Mrs. J.C. Walden Jr. left to visit relatives in Enterprise, AL last Friday
  • Mr. & Mrs. M.O. Brawer, visitors to DeFuniak, returned home to Pensacola on Monday
  • Miss Myrtle Nipe, visitor of Mrs. Cleveland, her sister, left Tuesday for Barth, FL, where she will resume her schooling
  • Mrs. J.T. Miller and children are visiting relatives in Bonifay
  • Mr. W.C. McLean of Knox Hill was in town Sunday
  • Mrs. J.H. Long of Ponce de Leon visited the city Saturday
  • Miss Ida Ray and her brother Dan visited relatives in Knox Hill for Christmas
  • Mr. Gordon Stubbs of River Junction spent Christmas in the city with his mother

  • Walter Drake lost a valuable dog from poison last week
  • Regular service will be held at the Universality church next Sunday at 11 AM and 7 PM
  • Santa Clause appeared Wednesday at the Universalist Church at 4 PM
  • Mr. W. Woodruff left last Sunday for his home in Norfolk
  • Mr. & Mrs. H.F. Powell returned to their home in Crestview after spending the holidays here
  • Mr. McAllister will be moving to Mooretown next Wednesday
  • Young people of DeFuniak enjoyed a hayride last Friday night out to the home of Mr. & Mrs. J.T. Seacrest, at the McQuarrie home
  • Miss Ethel Gardner, stenographer of 1 year with the Charles W.F. Turner Real Estate Agency, spent Christmas with relatives in Huntsville, AL
  • The cabbage crop for the year has begun to grow
