Mr. L. H. Atwell died of heart attack last Friday morning. A native of Grove City, Penn. Has been a resident here for past 25 years. Survivors were three sisters and two brothers in Penn. A son Robert H. Atwell of Washington state. Funeral was held Sunday at Presbyterian Church after which the body was interred beside that of his wife who had preceded him in death some two years ago. He was veteran of Spanish American War of 1898.
Laura Bell McLendon, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Ralph McLendon, was killed by a fall from a truck in which the family was riding Sunday. Services were held at family home Tuesday.

Mrs. Mary Lou Hardy, 38, wife of Shepherd Hardy, passed quietly away at her home near Ponce de Leon last Wednesday, October 4. Mrs. Hardy died after almost two years of illness. She leaves a husband Shepherd and seven children, Mary Jr., Monroe, Ezra, Leo, Earl, Rosette, and Charles; four sisters, Mrs. Frank Holman, Mrs. Nora Elliott, Mrs. Letty Champion, and Miss Idealia Smith, two brothers, Dan Smith and Benjamin Smith who is serving in South Pacific with the U S Army. Services were Thursday at Red Bay Presbyterian church, interment in Red Bay Cemetery.
Pvt. Henry Dalton Ard died in action overseas. He was son of Mr. and Mrs. William Ard and died of his wounds somewhere in France. Pvt. Ard’s brother, Okland Lee Ard was in the same company with his brother having reached England together in June 1944. Dalton, who would have been 21 years of age on November 28th died the same day he was wounded in action. The Ard brothers are nephew of Mr. and Mrs. Gaston Holly and Mr. and Mrs. Jake Ard of Paxton.
Mrs. William McNeil of Lakewood, Fla. died October 7, and services were held at Florala Baptist church on Sunday and interment was made in the Florala cemetery. Mrs. McNeil was formerly Miss Eva Duke of Gaskin and is survived by husband, four small children, her mother, Mrs. H. H. Ballard, and one sister, Mrs. Glen Vickery.
Mrs. G. H. Murphy passed away at her home on October 2, 1944. The deceased, the daughter of Cullen B. Edwards and Elizabeth Parish Edwards was born May 30 1872. She was the widow of the late G. H. Murphy whose death occurred November 14, 1938. Survived by two daughters, Mrs. J. M. Ealum and Mrs. J. F. Howell and one brother, Mr. A. S. Edwards. Services were held at Gum Creek cemetery and interment followed in churchyard cemetery.

Noah F. Fountain, 34 years, was killed in a truck accident at Freeport Saturday evening. Mr. Fountain, a son of Joe Fountain of Portland, was driving an oil truck which turned over and crushed him. Survivors are his widow, former Irene Godwin and two year old daughter Barbara, his parents and two brothers, Rayborn and Lavins Fountain. Burial in the Hatcher cemetery.
Mrs. Julia Randall died recently at home of her daughter Mrs. Harry Culbertson at Ft Wayne, Ind. She was a winter visitor to this place and about 87 years of age. She was born in Albion, N.Y. and united in marriage to Parry A. Randall a Fort Wayne attorney and civic leader in 1876.
Albert F. Bullard Sr. died Wednesday morning at the family home. Surviving are his widow, former Mary Virginia Cummings, daughter of late Rev. J. B. Cummings, three daughters, Misses Virginia and Jeanette Bullard and Mrs. J. F. Cooper, two sons Lt. A. F .Bullard Jr. of the Navy, and John now in Navy Training School; threee sisters, Retta Bullard, Mrs. Alderman & Mrs. Bryant; three brothers; Dr. Bullard and H. Bullard. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon for Mr. Albert Fletcher Bullard Sr. whose death occurred Wednesday October 18. Interment was made in Magnolia. Mr. Bullard was born in Steadman, NC on September 1, 1879. Early in 1900 he moved to Geneva Co. where he became associated in naval stores with his uncle the late B. F. Bullard, Alex Seasons, and Charley Matthews. In 1908 he married Miss Euphie Autry of Steadman, NC who died in 1916. Children of this union were Mrs. Catherine Cooper and Sara Brooks, a son Lt. A. F. Bullard, a grandson James Fenimore Cooper, Jr. Mr. Bullard and his second wife were married in 1923; children of this marriage were John and two daughters Virginia and Janet. Other survivors were four sisters, Mrs. J. C. Bryant, Mrs. A. B. Watson, Miss Retta Bullard, and Mrs. L. F. Alderman; brothers Dr. John Bullard and H. H. Bullard.
