Rev Pitt Mercer Scott Sr, 69 died Friday Feb 15, he was born in Washington Co. Florida. Services were held Sandy Creek church Sunday . Surviving are his wife, former Celia Jane Wilkes, 2 sons, Pitt Jr, & Clark Scott, 2 daughters, Mrs T D Sutton & Mrs J W Alfson.

The DeFuniak Herald – August 17, 1950 Obituary

Mrs Susana Bishop, aged 71, died in a Pensacola hospital, Friday Aug 11, following an illness of about 5 days. Mrs Bishop was a former resident of DeFuniak, having lived here a number of years, and later moving to Crestview. Services were held Sunday Aug 13, the interment being held at the Sandy Creek cemetery. Survivors are 3 sons, Curtis, Caro, Morris; and daughter Mrs Stell Glover, as well a number of grand-children.

ARCHBISHOP FUNERAL (p. 1)
(ARCADIA) H. H. Stewart, John A. Morrison and son, Campbell, were the people from here that attended the funeral ceremonies of the late Archbishop at Sandy Creek on Sunday.
(RED BAY) W. H. Kennington attended the Masonic ceremonies over the grave of the Archbishop at Sandy Creek on Sunday.

 

FUNERAL ATTENDEES (p. 4)
(LOCALS) Judge and Mrs. Parish, Thad Bell (the Walton County Sheriff at the time) and John Meigs were among those from town who went out to Sandy Creek, Sunday to attend the Masonic funeral ceremonies over the grave of the late Archbishop, who died last week from the effects of the cancer from which he suffered so long.

The ceremonies of unveiling the monument erected to the memory of our late Sovereign, Morgas Arrant, late a member of this camp, will be held at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery on the first Sunday of March, 1911, at one o’clock p. m. All near camps and visiting Soverigns are cordially invited to attend and participate in this fraternal rite. The cemetery is located about ten miles north of Ponce de Leon, and about four miles north east of Sandy Creek church.
